Slowdive is an English rock band formed in 1989 in Reading, Berkshire. The band consists of Rachel Goswell on vocals and guitar, Neil Halstead on vocals and guitar, Nick Chaplin on bass, Christian Savill on guitar, and Simon Scott on drums. They released their first album, Just for a Day, in 1991 and their most recent, Slowdive, in 2017.

Their standout albums include Souvlaki (1993), which features the popular songs "Alison" and "40 Days," and Pygmalion (1995), which features the single "Crazy for You."

Slowdive were one of the first bands to be labelled as "shoegaze," a genre of rock music that is characterized by dreamy, distorted guitar effects and ethereal vocals.

An interesting fact about Slowdive is that their band name was inspired by a 1985 single by the Smiths.
