New York Dolls Vinyl Records

The New York Dolls are an American rock band formed in New York City in 1971. They were one of the first glam rock bands, as well as one of the first punk rock bands. The original line-up consisted of vocalist David Johansen, guitarist Johnny Thunders, bassist Arthur Kane, and drummer Jerry Nolan.

The New York Dolls' debut album, New York Dolls (1973), was a critical and commercial success. It featured the band's most popular songs, including "Personality Crisis," "Trash," and "Looking for a Kiss." Their follow-up album, Too Much Too Soon (1974), was less successful and was the last studio album to feature the original lineup.

The New York Dolls' legacy has been heavily influential on punk and glam rock bands, including The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, and Guns N' Roses. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked the New York Dolls number 192 on their list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

An interesting fact about the New York Dolls is that bassist Arthur Kane was a Mormon missionary prior to joining the band.
