In Too Much Too Soon is the New York Dolls at their brashest and most hard-edged, sharpening the sleazy glamour that made their debut so influential. Released in 1974, the album mixed rock ’n’ roll, glam and early punk attitude into a louder, rougher statement that helped define the band’s lasting reputation. Produced by Shadow Morton, it pairs noisy guitars and ragged vocals with sharp covers and originals, including 'Stranded in the Jungle' and 'Who Are the Mystery Girls?'. Though not a major commercial hit at the time, it became an important touchstone for punk and glam revivalists who prized its attitude and chaos.
