New York Dolls – New York Dolls (VG+/VG+) – LP, JP 1978, No OBI

New York Dolls is an LP by New York Dolls from 1978 released on the Mercury label.

About this album

New York Dolls is the ferocious debut that helped define the bridge between glam rock, hard rock and early punk. Released in 1973, it captured the band’s ragged energy and New York streetwise attitude at a time when polished arena rock was dominant. With David Johansen’s sneering charisma and Johnny Thunders and Sylvain Sylvain’s guitar attack, the album turned songs like Personality Crisis and Trash into statements of style as much as sound. Initially overlooked, it later became widely regarded as a foundational record for punk and alternative rock, influencing generations of louder, rougher bands.
