Motörhead

Motörhead is an English rock band that was formed in 1975 by Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister, who is credited with inventing the speed metal and heavy metal genres. The band has gone through numerous lineup changes over the years, but the core trio of Lemmy, guitarist “Fast” Eddie Clarke and drummer Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor has remained a constant throughout their career.

Motörhead has released twenty-two studio albums, three live albums and twelve compilations, as well as numerous singles and videos. Their most successful albums are Overkill (1979), Ace of Spades (1980) and Iron Fist (1982). Standout songs include “Ace of Spades”, “Overkill”, “Killed by Death”, and “Bomber”.

An interesting fact about Motörhead is that the band is the only one to have the same lineup for twenty-five years, from 1975 to 2000. The band has also been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2005, Lemmy was presented with the Living Legend Award from Metal Hammer magazine.
