He gained international fame with the release of his second album, Oxygene (1976). This album was a breakthrough in the field of electronic music and is considered a landmark album. It spawned a number of singles, including "Oxygene Part 4", which became an international hit. His next album, Equinoxe (1978), was another successful release, and spawned the single "Equinoxe Part 5", which became another worldwide hit.
