Cheech & Chong are a comedy duo consisting of Richard "Cheech" Marin and Tommy Chong, who found fame in the 1970s and 1980s for their stand-up comedy and movies. The duo first met in Vancouver in 1969, and began performing together shortly thereafter.

Their first big break came in 1972 when they released their debut album, "Cheech & Chong". It featured their most popular song, "Basketball Jones", and was a critical and commercial success, leading to five more albums over the course of the 1970s. Their most popular albums include "Big Bambu" (1972), "Los Cochinos" (1973), and "Up In Smoke" (1978).
