About this album
Inside The Electric Circus sharpened W.A.S.P.'s glam-metal attack into one of the band’s most accessible and enduring statements. Released in 1986, it followed the shock tactics of their early work with bigger hooks, tighter arrangements and a more polished sound that widened their reach without softening the band's confrontational edge. The album features the title track, the swaggering ‘9.5.-N.A.S.T.Y.’ and a hard-charging version of ‘I Don’t Need No Doctor’, showing Blackie Lawless and company balancing raunch, melody and theatrical excess. It helped cement W.A.S.P.’s place in the mid-’80s heavy metal mainstream.
