Tropical Fuck Storm's Inflatable Graveyard Vol. 2 returns the Melbourne band to the live-album format with a set recorded across three sold-out nights at New York's TV Eye. Arriving after 2025's Fairyland Codex, it works as both a document of that record's afterlife on stage and a reminder of how central performance is to this group. Built around Gareth Liddiard and Fiona Kitschin of The Drones, alongside Lauren Hammel and Erica Dunn, Tropical Fuck Storm have always sounded volatile on record; here, that volatility is pushed further rather than tidied up.
The most useful thing about this release is how clearly it shows the songs changing shape in front of an audience. Material from Fairyland Codex is road-tested and reworked rather than simply replayed: "Stepping on a Rake" lands with heavier weight, "Irukandji Syndrome" opens out into a long, unruly guitar detour, and "Moscovium" feels even more urgent in the room. The set also reaches back to earlier favourites including "Who's My Eugene?" and "You Let My Tyres Down", giving the album a wider view of the band's catalogue.
There's also a well-chosen cover of The Saints' "This Perfect Day", which underlines the Australian punk lineage running through the band without turning the set into nostalgia. More than a souvenir, Inflatable Graveyard Vol. 2 captures Tropical Fuck Storm in the state that suits them best: loose, confrontational and fully locked in with each other.
