Thin Lizzy’s Jailbreak is the band’s breakthrough hard rock statement, the album that brought their sharp songcraft and twin-guitar attack to a wider audience. Issued in 1976, it paired Phil Lynott’s concise storytelling with the taut interplay of guitarists Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson, giving the record a clean, muscular sound that stood out in mid-70s rock. The title track and The Boys Are Back in Town became enduring staples, helping the album become the group’s commercial high point and one of their most recognisable releases. Its blend of hooks, swagger and melodic bite made Jailbreak a defining Thin Lizzy record.
