Thin Lizzy is an Irish rock band that was formed in Dublin, Ireland in 1969. The original members were Phil Lynott (vocals, bass), Eric Bell (guitar), Brian Downey (drums) and Scott Gorham (guitar). The band is most widely known for their blend of hard rock and folk music and their unique guitar harmonies.
Thin Lizzy's most successful albums include Jailbreak (1976), Black Rose (1979) and Bad Reputation (1977). The band had a string of hit singles including "The Boys Are Back in Town" (1976), "Whiskey in the Jar" (1973) and "Dancing in the Moonlight" (1978).
An interesting fact about Thin Lizzy is that the band's frontman Phil Lynott was of mixed heritage; his father was from England and his mother was from Ireland. He was one of the first black rock stars in the UK and Ireland, paving the way for other artists of color.
