Seventh Sojourn is a late peak for The Moody Blues, sharpening their symphonic rock style into something leaner and more immediately memorable. Issued in 1972, it balances the band’s lush melodic writing with a stronger sense of bite and momentum, especially on ‘Isn’t Life Strange’ and ‘I’m Just a Singer (In a Rock and Roll Band)’. The album was the group’s sixth studio release and followed the hugely successful run that made them one of the defining names in progressive and soft rock. Its blend of ambition, harmony and hooks helped confirm the band’s lasting place in 1970s rock.
