The Moody Blues is an English rock band formed in 1964. The group is best known for its fusion of classical music and traditional rock and roll, which became known as "progressive rock" in the 1970s. The band's most successful lineup included Justin Hayward (guitar, vocals), John Lodge (bass, vocals), Graeme Edge (drums, percussion, vocals), Mike Pinder (keyboards, vocals), and Ray Thomas (flute, vocals).

The Moody Blues have released a total of 18 studio albums, 4 live albums, and numerous compilations and singles. Their most successful albums are Days of Future Passed (1967) and Seventh Sojourn (1972). Days of Future Passed includes their most famous song, "Nights in White Satin", which is widely considered to be one of the best rock songs of all time. Other notable songs include "Tuesday Afternoon" and "Question".

An interesting fact about The Moody Blues is that they are the only band to have received a nomination for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame every year since their first nomination in 1990. They were finally inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018.
