  • West Of The World is an LP by The Dugites from 1981 released on the Deluxe Records label.

    About this album

West Of The World is a sharp debut from The Dugites, pairing new-wave urgency with lean pop-rock hooks and a distinctly Australian edge. Issued in 1981, the album reflects the band’s rise from Perth’s late-1970s scene, where their mix of melody, attitude and social observation set them apart from straight rock peers. Songs such as Part Of Me, No Noise and Waiting show a group confident in both bite and restraint, with the record’s crisp arrangements giving its pointed lyrics real momentum. It stands as one of the more distinctive Australian guitar albums of its era and a strong introduction to the band’s sound.
