The Dugites

The Dugites are an Australian rock band that was formed in Perth in 1977 by singer-songwriter and guitarist Ray Hendriks. The original lineup of the band included Ray Hendriks on guitar and vocals, Graham Bidstrup on drums, Mick Thomas on bass and vocals, and David Blight on keyboards. The band released three albums between 1979 and 1983, the most successful of which was their debut album, The Dugites. The album featured the hit singles "Lonely in the Night", "Too Many Hearts", and "One Way Street".

The Dugites' second album, Big Money, was released in 1981 and featured the single "Turn Around". The band released their third and final album, Reel Life, in 1983. The album featured the singles "I Wanna Be With You" and "I'm Free".

The Dugites disbanded in 1984, but in 2013, Ray Hendriks and Graham Bidstrup reunited to perform a series of shows in Perth.

An interesting fact about the Dugites is that they are credited with being one of the first bands to bring punk rock to Australia.
