About this album

Suzi Quatro’s self-titled debut is a hard-rocking statement of intent that helped make her one of the defining female stars of early-’70s glam. Issued in 1973, it pairs punchy rock ’n’ roll with swagger, attitude and a tough, stripped-back sound that set her apart from many of her peers. Anchored by the hit 48 Crash and fuelled by songs such as Glycerine Queen and All Shook Up, the album established Quatro as a formidable bassist, singer and frontwoman. Its mix of glam energy and hard-edged rock helped pave the way for later generations of women in mainstream rock.
