Suzi Quatro is an American rock singer, songwriter, and bassist who has enjoyed a successful career spanning five decades. Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1950, she was inspired to pursue a career in music by her father, a jazz musician. Quatro started out as the lead singer of an all-female rock band called The Pleasure Seekers in the late 1960s, and released her first solo album in 1973.

Quatro is best known for her glam rock-influenced hits such as "Can the Can," "48 Crash," and "Devil Gate Drive." Her breakthrough album, 1974's "Quatro," spawned the hits "Stumblin' In" (a duet with Chris Norman) and "If You Can't Give Me Love." Her other standout albums include "Your Mamma Won't Like Me" (1975), "Aggro-Phobia" (1976), and "Rock Hard" (1980).

An interesting fact about Suzi Quatro is that she was the first female bassist to gain international recognition. She has been cited as an influence by numerous female rockers, including Joan Jett and Courtney Love.
