The Soul Cages is an LP by Sting from 1991 released on the A&M Records label.
About this album
The Soul Cages is one of Sting’s most personal and ambitious solo albums, pairing polished pop-rock with darker, maritime imagery and a distinctly mournful tone. Released in 1991, it followed the huge success of his solo debut and found him writing from grief and memory rather than pure radio-friendly polish. Produced with Hugh Padgham, the album features some of Sting’s most enduring solo work, including All This Time and Mad About You, and helped establish his reputation as a serious songwriter beyond his Police legacy. Its blend of melodic sophistication, adult contemporary appeal and emotional weight made it a key early-1990s release in his catalogue.
