Sting is a British singer-songwriter and musician, best known as the lead vocalist for the rock band The Police from 1977 to 1984. He has since gone on to a successful solo career.

The Police's debut album, Outlandos d'Amour, was released in 1978 and featured the singles "Roxanne" and "Can't Stand Losing You". The follow-up, Reggatta de Blanc, was released in 1979 and included the hit songs "Message in a Bottle" and "Walking on the Moon". The band's third album, Zenyatta Mondatta, was released in 1980 and featured the single "Don't Stand So Close to Me". The band's fourth and final album, Ghost in the Machine, was released in 1981 and included the single "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic".

Sting's solo career began in 1985 with the release of The Dream of the Blue Turtles. The album featured the hit single "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free" and spawned other hits such as "Fortress Around Your Heart" and "Love Is the Seventh Wave". His second solo album, ...Nothing Like the Sun, was released in 1987 and featured the hit singles "We'll Be Together" and "Englishman in New York". His third album, The Soul Cages, was released in 1991 and featured the hit single "All This Time". His fourth album, Ten Summoner's Tales, was released in 1993 and featured the hit singles "If I Ever Lose My Faith in You" and "Fields of Gold".
