Rush – Power Windows (VG+/VG+) – LP, Australasia 1985

Power Windows is an LP by Rush from 1985 released on the Mercury label.

About this album

Power Windows is a sleek, synth-driven high point in Rush’s 1980s evolution, balancing prog ambition with sharper pop hooks and arena-scale drama. Released in 1985, the album shows the trio deep into the keyboards-rich sound they had been developing, while keeping Neil Peart’s intricate drumming and literate lyric writing firmly at the centre. Produced with Peter Collins, it sharpened the band’s focus without losing their technical identity. Songs such as The Big Money and Marathon helped define its blend of muscular riffs, polished melodies and thoughtful themes, making the record one of Rush’s most distinctive and commercially successful mid-career releases.
