Roxy Music – Avalon (VG+/VG+) – LP, Australasia 1982

Avalon is an LP by Roxy Music from 1982 released on the EG, Polydor label.

About this album

Avalon is Roxy Music’s elegant late-period masterpiece, and the album that turned the band’s art-rock sophistication into something smoother, warmer and deeply influential. Released in 1982, it refocused Bryan Ferry’s cool romanticism through lush production and understated electronic textures, with landmark songs such as More Than This and the title track becoming defining examples of refined pop restraint. The record completed Roxy Music’s studio run with a quieter confidence than their earlier glam-era work, helping cement their reputation as one of the most stylish and sonically adventurous British bands of the era.
