For Earth Below is an LP by Robin Trower from 1975 released on the Chrysalis label.
About this album
For Earth Below is one of Robin Trower’s most celebrated 1970s albums, sharpening his blues-rock sound into a heavier, more melodic statement. Released in 1975, it followed the breakthrough success of Bridge of Sighs and showed Trower extending his Hendrix-influenced guitar language with greater confidence and dynamic range. The trio format with James Dewar on bass and vocals and Reg Isidore on drums gives the record its tight, muscular feel, while songs such as the title track and Alethea underline its mix of swagger, melancholy and atmospheric lift. It remains a key release in Trower’s catalogue and a strong example of British psychedelic blues-rock.
