R.E.M. – Reveal

R.E.M.'s Reveal arrived in 2001 as the band's 12th studio album, a point where the trio were refining the electronic textures of Up without giving up the melodic core that made their best records stick. Co-produced with longtime collaborator Patrick McCarthy, it balances synthesized detail with a more song-focused approach, and it gave R.E.M. another major international success: the album reached No. 1 in the UK, peaked at No. 6 in the US, and earned Platinum and Gold certifications respectively.

What makes Reveal interesting in the R.E.M. catalogue is the way it softens the band's experimental streak into something warmer and more luminous.
