R.E.M. Vinyl Records
R.E.M. is an American rock band formed in Athens, Georgia in 1980. The band consists of Michael Stipe (lead vocals, guitar), Peter Buck (guitar, mandolin, keyboards), Mike Mills (bass, keyboards, backing vocals) and Bill Berry (drums, percussion).
The band released their debut album, Murmur, in 1983 and it became an instant classic. The album featured such fan favorites as "Radio Free Europe" and "Talk About the Passion". Their follow up album, Reckoning, was released in 1984 and was met with great success. The album featured such songs as "So. Central Rain (I'm Sorry)", "Pretty Persuasion" and "Second Guessing".
R.E.M. released their most successful album, Out of Time, in 1991. The album featured the hit singles "Losing My Religion" and "Shiny Happy People". The album also featured "Near Wild Heaven", which was written for the movie Doc Hollywood.
The band's most recent albums include Accelerate (2008), Collapse Into Now (2011) and Fables of the Reconstruction (1985).
An interesting fact about R.E.M. is that they are the only band to have all of their studio albums debut in the US Top 10.
