Caught In The Act shows Redgum at their most direct and politically engaged, turning Australian folk-rock into a vehicle for protest, humour and storytelling. Issued in 1983, the album draws on the band’s gift for plainspoken lyric writing and harmonies to tackle war, nationalism, environmental concern and working-class life. It includes one of their best-known songs, I Was Only 19 (A Walk In The Light Green), whose impact helped make Redgum a major voice in Australian music.
