Redgum Vinyl Records

Redgum is an Australian folk rock band that was formed in Adelaide, South Australia in 1975. The band's lineup consisted of John Schumann (lead vocals, guitar, harmonica), Michael Atkinson (guitar, vocals), Verity Truman (flute, saxophone, vocals), Geoff King (guitar, vocals), John Forrester (bass guitar, vocals) and John Lloyd (drums).

The band's debut album, Redgum, was released in 1979 and featured the hit single "I Was Only 19 (A Walk In the Light Green)". The single became a massive hit, peaking at #1 on the Australian charts and becoming one of the most successful songs in Australian music history. The album was certified gold and went on to become one of the best-selling albums of all time in Australia.

The band's follow-up album, Caught In The Act, was released in 1983 and featured the hit singles "The Diamantina Drover" and "The Drover's Boy". The album was certified platinum and is regarded as one of Redgum's most successful albums.

Redgum's final album, 1984's Voice Of Reason, featured the single "Lest We Forget". The song was written to commemorate Australia's involvement in the Vietnam War and has since become an anthem of remembrance.

An interesting fact about Redgum is that their single "I Was Only 19 (A Walk In the Light Green)" was used as the soundtrack for the Australian war film Gallipoli.
