Visions Of The Emerald Beyond is an LP by Mahavishnu Orchestra from 1975 released on the CBS label.
About this album
Visions Of The Emerald Beyond is a striking high-water mark in Mahavishnu Orchestra’s fusion catalogue, pushing the band’s technical firepower into more elaborate, compositional territory. Issued in 1975, the album blends jazz improvisation, rock volume and tightly arranged ensemble passages, with John McLaughlin’s guitar leading a lineup that thrives on speed, precision and dramatic shifts in mood. Pieces such as Eternity’s Breath and Lila’s Dance show the group’s balance of virtuosity and structure, while the record’s bold scope helped define the adventurous edge of 1970s jazz-rock. It remains one of the band’s most fully realised statements.
