Jefferson Starship – Spitfire (VG+/VG+) – LP, AU 1976

Spitfire is an LP by Jefferson Starship from 1976 released on the Grunt label.

About this album

Spitfire shows Jefferson Starship sharpening the blend of folk rock and pop rock that defined their mid-1970s sound. Released in 1976, the album follows the group’s transformation from the earlier Jefferson Airplane era into a more streamlined, melody-driven band with broader commercial reach. Built around polished harmonies, guitar-led arrangements and the songwriting strengths of the lineup, it delivers some of the band’s most accessible material, including ‘With Your Love’ and ‘St. Charles’. The record helped confirm Jefferson Starship as a major rock act in the post-psych era, balancing radio-friendly craft with the spirit of their San Francisco roots.
