Hot Chip – Made In The Dark (2xLP)

In 2008, Hot Chip released “Made In The Dark,” a wild pop album that defied categorization. The album reached No. 4 on the UK charts, and the single “Ready For The Floor” made it into the Top Ten and was nominated for a Grammy. While their previous albums had been created more in a bedroom setting, this time Hot Chip wanted to capture the energy of their live performances in the studio recordings. Although they were originally signed to a major label, the band enjoyed an unprecedented degree of autonomy. “We were excited by the idea of making something unusual and vibrant,” says Joe Goddard. “This album was all about the freedom to experiment and interpret pop music the way we wanted to,” adds Alexis Taylor.

“We’d kicked down the doors and were now right in the thick of things,” says band member Owen Clarke.
