Eurythmics – In The Garden (VG+/VG+) – LP, UK 1981

In The Garden is an LP by Eurythmics from 1981 released on the RCA label.

About this album

In The Garden introduced Eurythmics as a formidable new duo, pairing post-punk tension with the sleek melodic instincts that would define their later success. Their debut album, released in 1981, was produced by Conny Plank and recorded in Germany, giving the songs a cool, rigorous sound that set them apart from much of the early-80s pop field. With Annie Lennox’s poised vocals and Dave Stewart’s sharp, inventive arrangements, the album moves between wiry new wave, atmospheric pop and uneasy experimentalism. It is an early statement of purpose from a group that would soon become one of the era’s most distinctive acts.
