    Fireball is a fierce, transitional Deep Purple album that tightened the band’s hard rock sound while expanding its ambition. Released in 1971, it followed In Rock and showed the Mark II line-up pushing harder into riffs, improvisation and compressed studio energy. The title track became one of their signature openers, while songs such as Demon's Eye and The Mule balance heavy groove with flashes of experimentation. Produced by Deep Purple with dynamic, attack-minded recording, the album helped cement the band’s reputation as one of the defining forces in early 1970s hard rock.
