About this album
My New Celebrity Is You - Vol. III highlights Blossom Dearie’s signature blend of cool-toned vocal jazz, crisp phrasing and playful understatement. Issued in 1976, the album finds the pianist and singer applying her unmistakable wit and clarity to a mixed repertoire that includes contemporary material and standards, with every song shaped by her conversational timing. Dearie’s light, precise delivery made her one of vocal jazz’s most distinctive stylists, equally at home with humour, melancholy and sly sophistication. This volume continues the late-career run that kept her voice and personality front and centre, reinforcing her reputation as an elegant interpreter rather than a conventional torch singer.
