Big Pig – Bonk (VG+/VG+) – LP, UK 1988

Bonk is an LP by Big Pig from 1988 released on the A&M Records label.

About this album

Bonk is the album that made Big Pig’s brash mix of pop rock, synth-pop and percussion-heavy funk instantly distinctive. Released in 1988, the Australian group’s debut turned heads with the hit Iron Lung, a sharply hooky single that helped define the record’s commercial appeal at home and abroad. Built on stacked rhythms, muscular vocals and concise songwriting, the album balanced danceable energy with a mainstream rock edge. Alongside standout cuts such as Hungry Town and Break Away, Bonk captured a late-1980s crossover sound that was both radio-ready and unusually percussive, giving Big Pig a brief but memorable place in Australian pop history.
