Big Pig Vinyl Records

Big Pig is an Australian new wave/funk band that was active in the late 1980s. The group was formed in 1984 in Sydney by bassist Tony Featherstone, guitarist Tim Oxley, drummer Mark Dawson, and vocalist-guitarist Simon Austin. They were signed to EMI Records in 1987, and released their self-titled debut album the same year.

The band's most successful album was Bonk, which was released in 1988. It featured the single “Breakaway”, which reached number 17 on the Australian singles chart and was later covered by the band Noiseworks. Other standout songs from the album include “Hungry Town”, “Beautiful Girl” and “Jellybean”.

The band released their second album, Big Pig II, in 1989. The album featured the singles “Take Me Back” and “The Wall”, which both charted in Australia.

Big Pig's final album, Boom Boom, was released in 1990. The album featured the singles “Big Big House” and “Kiss Me”, which both charted in Australia.

An interesting fact about Big Pig is that their song “Breakaway” was used in the 1989 film The Delinquents.
