1000 Gecs is the hyperactive debut EP that helped define the sound of hyperpop. Released in 2019 by the American duo 100 gecs, it fuses bubblegum melody, EDM extremes, pop-punk energy and absurdist humour into a fast, volatile burst of digital overload. Built from warped hooks and heavily processed textures, the record turned songs like Money Machine and Stupid Horse into underground breakout moments. Its mix of maximalism, irony and melodic instinct made it one of the most influential releases of the late 2010s internet music scene, shaping a wave of artists working between pop, club music and noise.
