Van Der Graaf Generator Vinyl Records

Van Der Graaf Generator is an English progressive rock band that was formed in 1967 in Manchester, England. The group is led by founding member Peter Hammill and includes Hugh Banton, Guy Evans, and David Jackson.

Their first two albums, The Aerosol Grey Machine (1969) and The Least We Can Do Is Wave to Each Other (1970), were influential in the development of progressive rock. The band’s sound is marked by complex rhythms, often featuring odd time signatures, and darkly poetic lyrics.

Some of their standout albums include Pawn Hearts (1971), H to He, Who Am the Only One (1970), and Still Life (1976). Popular songs from these albums include “A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers”, “Lemmings”, “The Sleepwalkers”, and “Man-Erg”.

An interesting fact about Van Der Graaf Generator is that they were one of the first progressive rock bands to be signed to a major record label, Charisma Records. The band has also been cited as an influence by a number of later bands, including Marillion and King Crimson.
