The Stylistics Vinyl Records

The Stylistics are an American R&B and soul vocal group, formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1968. The group's original members were lead singer Russell Thompkins Jr., Herbie Murrell, Airrion Love, James Smith, and James Dunn. They became one of the most popular vocal groups of the 1970s, and have sold millions of albums worldwide.

The Stylistics' debut album, titled The Stylistics, was released in 1971 and featured the hit single "You're a Big Girl Now". This song, along with "Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart)", "People Make the World Go Round", and "You Are Everything" helped to make the album a huge success. Their follow-up album, Round 2, was released in 1972 and featured the singles "Betcha by Golly, Wow", "I'm Stone in Love with You", and "Break Up to Make Up". The group continued to find success with their subsequent albums, including Rockin' Roll Baby (1973), Let's Put It All Together (1974), and Fabulous (1975).

The Stylistics' most successful album was 1976's You Are Beautiful, which included the hit singles "You Are Everything", "Can't Give You Anything (But My Love)", and "You Make Me Feel Brand New". The album also featured a cover of the Bee Gees' song "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart". The group's next album, Closer Than Close, was released in 1977 and included the single "I Can't Give You Anything (But My Love)".

The Stylistics have released a number of compilations and live albums over the years, including Greatest Hits (1977), Best of the Stylistics (1982), Live at the Greek Theater (1996), and The Very Best of the Stylistics (2005).

An interesting fact about The Stylistics is that they were the first R&B group to perform at Carnegie Hall in 1975.
