The Alarm Vinyl Records

The Alarm is a Welsh alternative rock band that was formed in 1981 in Rhyl, North Wales. The original lineup included Mike Peters on vocals and guitar, Eddie MacDonald on bass, Dave Sharp on guitar, and Nigel Twist on drums.

The Alarm released their self-titled debut album in 1983, which featured the singles "The Stand" and "Unsafe Building". This album was followed by Declaration in 1984, which included the hit single "68 Guns". The band's third album, Strength, was released in 1985 and included their biggest hit, "Rain in the Summertime".

In 1988, the Alarm released their fourth album, Change. This album featured the singles "Shelter" and "Superchannel", and spawned the band's first top ten hit in the United States, "Sixty Eight Guns". The band's fifth album, Raw, was released in 1991 and was the last to feature the original lineup.

The Alarm's most successful album was their sixth, Eye of the Hurricane, which was released in 1992 and featured the single "The Rock". This album was followed by the band's seventh album, In the Poppy Fields, in 1995.

In addition to their studio albums, The Alarm has released several live albums and compilations. Their most recent album, Sigma, was released in 2013.

An interesting fact about The Alarm is that they were one of the first bands to use the internet to promote their music, launching the "Friends of the Alarm" website in 1995.
