Shadowfax Vinyl Records

Shadowfax is an American jazz fusion group that formed in Chicago, Illinois in the early 1970s. The group was founded by Philip Boulding, who was a former member of the rock band Chicago. Shadowfax initially began as an acoustic jazz-rock group, but eventually developed a more sophisticated sound based on a mix of jazz, folk, and world music.

The group's most acclaimed album is 1983's The Dreams of Children, which was voted one of the best jazz albums of the year by DownBeat magazine. The album featured the group's best-known song, "The Quiet Joys of Brotherhood", which was featured on the Grammy-winning soundtrack to the 1986 film The Color Purple. Other notable albums include 1981's Shadowdance and 1989's Folk Songs for a Nuclear Village.

An interesting fact about Shadowfax is that they have been credited as an influence by several high-profile artists, including R.E.M., Peter Gabriel, and Rush.
