Sammy Davis Jr. was an American singer, dancer, actor, and comedian who was born in 1925 in Harlem, New York. He was a child star and a member of the legendary Rat Pack. He starred in movies, performed on Broadway, and recorded over 50 albums throughout his career.

Davis Jr. is most well-known for his standout albums Yes I Can (1965), Sammy Davis Jr. Now (1970), and The Song and Dance Man (1973). He also released a number of successful singles such as “What Kind of Fool Am I?” (1962), “The Candy Man” (1972), and “The Shelter of Your Arms” (1974).

An interesting fact about Sammy Davis Jr. is that he was the first African-American performer to guest-star on the popular American television show The Ed Sullivan Show. He also performed at the White House in 1962, becoming the first African-American to do so.
