Marillion Vinyl Records

Marillion is an English rock band that formed in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire in 1979. They are best known for their progressive rock sound and for their #1 single, "Kayleigh", which was released in 1985. The band is comprised of lead vocalist Steve Hogarth, guitarists Steve Rothery and Mark Kelly, bassist Pete Trewavas, and drummer Ian Mosley.

Marillion's earliest albums are classified as neo-progressive rock, and the band gained a devoted fan base in the 1980s. Their most acclaimed albums are "Misplaced Childhood" (1985), "Clutching at Straws" (1987), and "Brave" (1994). Other standout albums include "Seasons End" (1989), "Holidays in Eden" (1991), and "Marbles" (2004).

Notable songs by Marillion include "Kayleigh", "Lavender", "Easter", "Incommunicado", "Sugar Mice", "Hooks in You", "Garden Party", "The Great Escape", "You're Gone", and "Living in F E A R".

An interesting fact about Marillion is that they are credited with being one of the pioneers of the "internet-based" music industry. In 1997, the band set up a fan club, the Marillion Internet Service (MIS), to give fans exclusive access to exclusive content and to promote their music. This was one of the first attempts by a major artist to use the internet to promote and distribute their music.
