Laughing Clowns Vinyl Records

Laughing Clowns were an Australian post-punk band formed in Sydney in 1979. The band was led by guitarist and songwriter Ed Kuepper, who was previously a founding member of the influential punk rock band The Saints. Laughing Clowns released five studio albums between 1981 and 1990. Their 1982 album Law of Nature is widely considered to be their best work, and is highly praised for its mixture of punk and jazz. The standout tracks on Law of Nature include "Clowns on Velvet", "The Word and the Dust" and "The Wild One". The band's 1985 album Going Fishin' is also highly regarded, and features the standout tracks "Hangin' On the Line" and "I Don't Want to See Myself (Without You)". The band's final album, 1990's Whereabouts Unknown, featured the singles "Dance the Night Away" and "The Naked Flame". An interesting fact about Laughing Clowns is that they are credited with introducing a jazzy, avant-garde sound to the punk scene in Australia. This influence was particularly evident on Law of Nature, which featured a combination of punk, jazz, funk and rock.
