Ice-T is an American rapper, actor and songwriter from Los Angeles, California. He is considered one of the pioneers of gangsta rap and is recognized as one of the most influential rappers of all time.

Ice-T's debut album, Rhyme Pays, released in 1987, is considered a classic of West Coast rap. The album was certified gold and featured the single, "6 in the Mornin'". The song's dark and violent lyrics, combined with its heavy use of sampling, established Ice-T as a pioneer in the genre of gangsta rap.

His follow-up album, Power, released in 1988, is also considered a classic of West Coast rap and spawned several successful singles, including "High Rollers", "O.G. Original Gangster" and "New Jack Hustler". The album was certified platinum and featured Ice-T's most recognizable and successful single, "Colors".

Ice-T's other successful albums include The Iceberg/Freedom of Speech...Just Watch What You Say (1989), Home Invasion (1993), VII (1999), Gangsta Rap (2006) and The Seventh Deadly Sin (2008).
