Hank Jones (1918-2010) was an American jazz pianist, arranger, and composer. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest jazz pianists of all time and is known for his sophisticated and elegant style of playing.

Jones began playing professionally in the late 1930s and in the 1940s, he worked with a variety of jazz legends including Benny Goodman, Ella Fitzgerald, and Charlie Parker. He was also a session musician for many of the great R&B and pop singers of the 1950s and 1960s, such as Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra, and Nat King Cole.

His standout albums include “Groovin’ High” (1955), “The Talented Touch” (1960), “Live at the Village Vanguard” (1962), “Gospel Time” (1965), and “At the Golden Circle, Stockholm” (1966). Some of his most popular songs include “C Jam Blues”, “There Will Never Be Another You”, “Blue Monk”, “My Funny Valentine”, and “Just Friends”.

An interesting fact about Hank Jones is that he was the last surviving member of the original "Jones Brothers" jazz group, which included his brothers Thad and Elvin. He was also the last surviving original member of the Jazz Messengers.
