Gene Clark was an American singer, songwriter and guitarist. He is best known as a founding member of the folk-rock band The Byrds. He is considered one of the most influential figures of the 1960s music scene, having written and performed some of the most iconic songs of the decade.

Clark's solo career began in 1966 and his most successful albums include White Light (1971), No Other (1974), Roadmaster (1975) and Two Sides to Every Story (1977). His most well-known songs are "She Don't Care About Time", "Tried So Hard", "Silver Raven", "Strength of Strings" and "Gypsy Rider".

An interesting fact about Gene Clark is that he wrote the lyrics for the Byrds' most successful single, "Turn! Turn! Turn!" which was based on a passage from the Bible. He also wrote the lyrics to the iconic Bob Dylan song "Mr. Tambourine Man" which was later covered by The Byrds.
