Commodores Vinyl Records

The Commodores are an American funk/soul band, which formed in 1968 at Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. The original members of the band were Milan Williams (keyboards), Thomas McClary (guitar), Ronald LaPread (bass), William King (trumpet), Walter Orange (vocals/drums) and Lionel Richie (vocals/saxophone).

The Commodores had a string of successful albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including their self-titled debut album (1974), Caught in the Act (1975), Movin' On (1977), Natural High (1978), Midnight Magic (1979), Heroes (1980) and United (1986). Their biggest hits included "Machine Gun", "Easy", "Three Times a Lady", "Sail On", "Still" and "Nightshift".

An interesting fact about the Commodores is that Lionel Richie left the band in 1982 to pursue a solo career. After Richie left, the Commodores continued to have success with hits such as "Oh No", "Goin' to the Bank" and "United".
