Clint Mansell is a British composer, musician and producer, best known for his award-winning work on the film and television scores of films such as Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, Moon, and Black Swan. His career began in the early 1990s, when he was the lead singer and guitarist of the alternative rock band Pop Will Eat Itself.

Mansell's breakout score was for Darren Aronofsky's 2000 film Requiem for a Dream. The soundtrack album, released by Nonesuch Records, featured a combination of Mansell's score and popular songs. The album peaked at number 34 on the Billboard 200 and spawned the single "Lux Aeterna", which has become Mansell's most recognizable piece of music. The song was featured in the trailer for the 2004 film The Passion of the Christ and was later covered by the likes of Metallica, Within Temptation and more.

The Fountain, Mansell's second score for Aronofsky, earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Score. Other notable film scores include Moon, Black Swan and Noah. Mansell has also composed music for television, including the theme song for AMC's The Walking Dead.

An interesting fact about Mansell is that he has been involved in two different film trilogies. He scored all three films in the sci-fi drama The Matrix series, as well as the drama-horror trilogy of films directed by Aronofsky: Pi, Requiem for a Dream, and The Fountain.
