Broadcast Vinyl Records

Broadcast is an English electronic music group from Birmingham, England, active from 1995 until their disbandment in 2011. The group was composed of vocalist and keyboardist Trish Keenan, guitarist and keyboardist James Cargill, and various accompanying musicians.

Broadcast's discography includes three studio albums: The Noise Made by People (2000), Haha Sound (2003), and Tender Buttons (2005). They also released the mini-album The Future Crayon (1997) and the EP Pendulum (1999).

The group's most acclaimed work is their 2000 debut album, The Noise Made by People. The album garnered critical praise and has been named one of the best albums of the 2000s by publications such as Pitchfork, Uncut, and Mojo. The album's standout tracks include "Come On Let's Go", "Papercuts", "Echo's Answer", and "Black Cat".

Haha Sound, released in 2003, is also highly acclaimed, with tracks such as "Before We Begin", "Minim", and "Living Room".

Tender Buttons, the group's final album, was released in 2005 and is arguably their most experimental work. It features the single "America's Boy", which was featured in the video game Grand Theft Auto IV.

Broadcast were one of the pioneers of the "Wyrd-Folk" genre, which combines elements of folk and electronic music. They have been cited as an influence by many modern bands, including The xx and Animal Collective.
