Bill Withers Vinyl Records

Bill Withers (born William Harrison Withers Jr., July 4, 1938 – March 30, 2020) was an American singer-songwriter and musician who performed and recorded from the late 1960s until the mid-1980s. He was born and raised in the small coal-mining town of Slab Fork, West Virginia, and grew up listening to the music of gospel and blues.

Withers is best known for his classic soulful hits, including “Ain't No Sunshine,” “Lean On Me,” “Lovely Day,” and “Just the Two of Us.” He released nine studio albums throughout his career, with the most successful being his 1972 debut album Just as I Am and 1975’s Still Bill, both of which were certified double platinum.

Some of Withers’ other standout albums include Menagerie (1977) and 'Bout Love (1980).

Interesting fact: Bill Withers served in the United States Navy before embarking on his music career. He was honorably discharged in 1965.
