Altered Images Vinyl Records

Altered Images was a Scottish new wave/synthpop band that was active between 1980 and 1983. It was formed by vocalist Clare Grogan, with the original lineup consisting of Grogan, Tony McDaid, Michael "Tich" Anderson, Johnny McElhone, and Tony McLoughlin.

Their most successful album was Happy Birthday, released in 1981, which spawned their biggest hit single, the title track. It peaked at number two in the UK Singles Chart and featured on their debut album, Celebrate. Other notable songs from the album include "I Could Be Happy", "See Those Eyes" and "Don't Talk to Me About Love".

The band released a second album, Pinky Blue, in 1982. It featured the single "Love to Stay", which peaked at number nine on the UK Singles Chart.

An interesting fact about Altered Images is that in 2010, the band reformed for a one-off show at Glasgow's Barrowland Ballroom. The show was recorded and released as a live album, titled Altered Images Live at the Barrowland.
